SendGrid celebrated a major milestone last week—we sent our 100 billionth email to date…and counting!
To celebrate reaching this goal, we thought it would be fun to launch our first ever SendGrid Spirit Week. (Remember that one week in high school when you could wear pajamas to class? Kind of like that!) Each day of the week featured a different dress code and theme that culminated in a “100 Billion” party for family and friends on Friday.
We have our fair share of sports fanatics here at SendGrid, so on Monday, we dove head first into March Madness. Everyone supported their favorite college team by sporting their school gear and/or colors. We also had a company-wide March Madness bracket and after a heated contest, the best bracket was chosen by our Product Manager, Brian. Congrats Brian!
Tuesday brought out the kid in all of us. We were all encouraged to release our inner superhero and dress as our favorite crime fighter. (Who doesn’t love an excuse to wear a cape to the office?) Batman, Wolverine, and Superman were just a few of the legends who graced our offices and kept us safe. It was clearly a proud day for all of us.
In the spirit of startup solidarity, Wednesday was a day where we all repped our favorite startups and wore their company t-shirts. Thanks to all of our fellow tech friends for always supplying us with cool gear!
Thursday was a time for all the closet chefs in the company to shine. We hosted our first ever chili cook off–all ranges of spiciness and heat were represented with Keanon from Support winning the tastiest chile award in the Denver office.
We capped off Spirit Week with a 100 Billion party in all of our offices. It was an opportunity for every SendGridder to enjoy this milestone with their co-workers and families and friends. It was especially nice to see all of our honorary SendGridders (aka the kids!) enjoying our offices and this achievement. We’re thrilled to say that SendGrid now sends 1% of the world’s non-spam email and are so humbled to have passed the 100 billion benchmark.
To honor this occasion, we’re going to begin highlighting different members of the SendGrid team here on the blog in a series called SendGrid Spotlights. We want to give you a better idea of what makes SendGrid tick and hope you’ll stay along for the ride as we work towards sending 200 billion emails and beyond.
