SendGrid’s Dev Rel and marketing teams have a busy schedule this fall. We just wrapped up the first ever Latin American leg of our SendGrid Delivered tour and are prepping to once again hack, mentor, and speak our way from coast to coast in the US and throughout Europe at a host of developer-focused events.
To see where you’ll find us this month and next, check out our Events Calendar. But in the meantime, we want to highlight an upcoming event that we’re particularly excited about, DevBeat, hosted by our friends at VentureBeat.
DevBeat Details
DevBeat is right around the corner on November 12th-13th at the Regency Center in San Francisco. The two-day event is high-level, but hands-on and is aimed at giving developers the latest tools, insights, and cutting-edge ideas they need to take their craft to the next level.
The event features two main tracks:
- One with focused “master classes” and active participation
- The other with lean-back learning in sessions with world-class guests and modern hacker heroes.
Each track gives attendees multiple opportunities to drill down on the topics that will best help them achieve their coding and career goals.
In addition to the master classes, hackathons, and high-level discussions/presentations, attendees will have plenty of networking opportunities during beer breaks, quick-connect sessions, receptions, and more.
Communicating Your Code with Nick Quinlan
On Wednesday, November 13th at 10:25am our very own San Francisco-based Developer Evangelist, Nick Quinlan, will be leading the tech talk, Communicating Your Code.
Here’s what you can expect from Nick’s talk:
As developers, we talk about code every day: to technical people, non-technical people, people who know more about systems than us, and people who know less. Each has different frames of reference and must be told things differently. This talk will explore methods of communication for each type of audience and the processes behind them. Understand how to sell your ideas to your boss, explain what you do to your parents, teach other developers, and solicit feedback better.
Don’t miss out on Nick’s talk or presentations by David Heinemeir Hansson, Tom Preston-Werner, Rasmus Lerdorf, Jeff Lawson, and more.

Attending DevBeat is a great way to jumpstart and enhance your life as a developer, so we hope to see you there. Reach out to Nick (@YayNickQ) and us (@SendGrid) to let us know about your experience.
